We are looking for people to directly contribute to the Saks customer experience by improving the search engine and its integration into the website. The current search engine is slow and produces inaccurate results; over the past few months, we have been investing in a new high-performance search engine, and are now ready to start integrating it into the site. Main Responsibilities:
Design and implement creative technical solutions using React + javascript
Active participation in the Discovery process of new UI features for next-generation search engine, recommendation system & Saks website navigation
Building rapid prototypes for pre-production and data visualization to support those prototypes
Workload and timing estimations
Adhere to company standards and guidelines
Propose process improvements and changes
Actively participate in project team meetings and technical discussions related to the project
Requirements:
3+ years of delivering customer-facing web apps using React
Proven proficiency in JavaScript
Experience with writing unit tests
Fluency in writing code that does computation in the client
Some knowledge of building data visualization (plots, diagrams, etc) in React
Knowledge of D3.js will be an advantage; a willingness to learn this library is essential
for proficiency in English (oral and written); fluency is not required but at least a willingness to improve. You will communicate with English-only speakers as well as native Ukrainians
