Responsibilities:

The Talent Sourcing function focuses on proactively identifying and attracting candidates to fulfill a company's hiring needs for specific job openings. In the context of a job posting, Talent Sourcing involves several key steps:

  • Understanding Job Requirements: The sourcer collaborates with hiring managers and recruiters to fully understand the requirements, skills, and experience needed for the role. This includes soft skills, technical skills, cultural fit, and other specific qualifications.
  • Building a Candidate Pipeline: Based on the job profile, the sourcer researches and identifies potential candidates. This may involve searching through job boards, LinkedIn, internal databases, and other online networks. Sourcers often look beyond active job seekers to find passive candidates who might be open to new opportunities.
  • Screening for Fit: The sourcer conducts initial screenings through messages, to assess the candidate's interest, availability, and preliminary fit for the role.
  • Engaging Candidates: Using tailored outreach, sourcers communicate with candidates, providing information about the job and the company, highlighting aspects that align with each candidate's background and interests. Effective sourcing emphasizes personalization to increase response rates and engagement.
  • Maintaining a Talent Pool: To ensure readiness for current and future job postings, sourcers often maintain an organized talent pool of candidates who may not be a fit now but could be in the future. This proactive approach helps reduce time-to-fill and supports more efficient hiring.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Sourcers track metrics such as response rates, engagement rates, and conversion rates (e.g., those who move on to interviews or get hired). This helps in optimizing sourcing strategies and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaboration with Recruiters: Finally, sourced candidates who meet the job requirements are passed to recruiters, who then take over the interview and selection process. The partnership between sourcers and recruiters is essential to ensure the best candidates are moved forward quickly and efficiently.
