N-iX is looking for experienced Cloud Architect to join our team.

Lebara Mobile provides Pay As You Go mobile SIM cards, targeted towards the needs of international communities and migrant workers.
 
The Cloud Architect be a part of the Cloud Architecture team collaborating with other teams – infrastructure and specialists partnering with all levels of IS staff and management to deliver business outcomes. The ideal candidate for this role will have a solid understanding of cloud computing, technology systems and current trends. The Cloud Architect will play an active role in the design and review process of new systems; architect analyzes the system’s needs and introduce alternative technologies to improve or enhance enterprise information systems, customer's product in general.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Take technical leadership role
  • Possess a deep understanding of the product and business goals which you can translate into technology decisions
  • Architects, plans, and implements cloud infrastructure solutions that balance simplicity, standards, scalability, extensibility, supportability, and integrity
  • Hands-on experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale or current hands on technology infrastructure, networking, computing and storages experience
  • Be focused on cloud cost control as a key ensuring all design work and operation is done with the view of keeping costs to a minimum; be able to explain what methods are normally employ to reduce cloud costs
  • Expertise around being very comfortable with the service offerings and components within AWS and Azure meaning there is an almost instant understanding of “what fits where”
  • Be able to identify, based on reasoning, which platforms are preferred for the different database types used in an organisation
  • Collaborates with data and technology business partners to understand the business needs from viewpoint of cloud infrastructure
  • Regularly evaluates existing cloud infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product owners, and vendors

 
Required skills:

  • Relevant work experience in one of the following: Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Solution Engineer, Senior Consultant etc
  • Solid understanding of DevOps methodology, procedures and processes
  • Expert in working with AWS Cloud infrastructure. Certifications are required
  • Experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure 
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including Hardware, software, network, and storage
  • Expert knowledge around WAN connectivity and how this interacts with the various entry point options into AWS, Azure, etc
  • Ability to demonstrate focus on security in designing cloud based solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge around optimising network traffic performance at delivering high availability while keeping a check on costs
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking. Any Cisco networking certifications would be a huge plus
  • Practical experience with architecture, implementation, and operation of complex multi-vendor, multi-server network infrastructures in support of a mission-critical enterprise environment
