We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join our team.

The role is:
Working within the API product ‘workstream’ the business analyst provides a critical connection between the business and technical teams.
The workstream is responsible for our Open Banking and Commercial API interfaces, supporting product innovations from both internal and external clients.
Through expert analysis, and in collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, and testers, the role enables the delivery of high-quality software development to deliver to the product roadmap.


  • Collect, understand, and convey business requirements for a given project or programme
  • Find and communicate pragmatic technical solutions to large and/or complex needs
  • Produce detailed business and functional requirements, and assist in the development of technical requirements working directly with Internal and External technology teams
  • Document user stories in JIRA which enable developers and test team to efficiently deliver high quality software to meet business requirements
  • Lead Backlog refinement
  • Co-ordinate business SMEs in a user acceptance testing (UAT) capacity to validate that their requirements have been delivered
  • Work with Operations teams (IT and Business) to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and transition to Business as Usual (BAU) state
  • Support for agile ways of working (daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, planning, sprint reporting, sprint demos
  • Review of delivery requests and defect reports - impact assessment/ prioritisation/ communication
  • Collaborate with Product Owner on producing workstream roadmap and prioritising backlog


  • Advanced Business Analysis skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing business and technology projects and delivering change
  • Experience of the full Software Development Life Cycle including Agile methodologies
  • Use of formal Analysis methodology, tools and technical e.g. UML, use cases, user stories with acceptance criteria, wire framing
  • Some understanding of REST APIs and their specification documents
  • Some experience of data analysis and data mapping
  • Experience of working closely with software developers
  • Ability to elicit pragmatic solutions, whilst maximising business benefit
  • Comfortable determining requirements through review of technical integration specs / XML file specs etc.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • At least upper-intermediate English level
  • Confident liaising with senior stakeholders, managing their expectations and leveraging their time effectively
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
  • Effective team working
