N-iX is looking for a Middle/Senior Front-end Engineer for a short term project (up to 3 months) on freelance part-time basic (up to 20 hours per week).
Our client is an electronic trading, risk and data platform, designed for the commodity markets. It has been developed by one of the largest commodity brokers in the world, that not only understands the needs of traders, but also provides extensive resources, including expertise, investment and human capital.

Project:
This is a task that needs consistent, admin-type of work – opening up existing templates, checking, editing, committing etc. There are 450 templates to review, but these overlap and either have no issue to fix, or common issues with the same fix (i.e. replace typeahead function with never in 50 templates etc).
Important is a good knowledge of Bootstrap 2 and 3, and Jquery / javascript, as we have customised functions that will not work “out of the box” with Bootstrap 3.

Responsibilities:

Update existing frontend screens of Web Application (CRM) from Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 3, then Bootstrap 4
Update and/or replace all embedded libraries and plugins (Jquery etc)
Resolve all custom CSS overrides that were done to the original Bootstrap
Adjust all screens to correct layout and behaviour under Bootstrap 3

Requirements:

3+ years of commercial experience in Front-end development
Experience in editing frontend code for web applications
Bootstrap 2 and 3 (and 4) – expert level
Frontend HTML, CSS
Javascript
JQuery and other plugins
Twig templates
PHP to understand and where needed adjust how the plugins interface with the backend
Gitlab for code management
