We are looking for Java Software Engineer (Ready to work with Cassandra). 

Position Description:
The team is responsible for building and maintaining a caching layer for a customer's retail portal. It serves a broad range of customer related requests with the sub-seconds latency. The caching layer is built as a RESTful web service and is powered by Cassandra. It receives its source data asynchronously through a JMS.
The team needs a proficient Java developer with a deep knowledge of Cassandra and its data modeling techniques, experience in building high-performant web-services (preferably RESTful). It is very important to be able to write high-quality java code and unit/integration tests.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing web-services in Java
  • Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Writing unit and integration tests
  • Defining the most efficient data model and table structure for Cassandra
  • Performance tuning
  • Working with BA/PM to understand and define requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of extensive Java development
  • Strong with Java-Web Services (REST)
  • JMS-Unit/Integration testing
  • Microservices architecture patterns
  • Proficient with NoSQL databases (preferably Cassandra, Data modeling and API)
  • Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical folks
  • Experience with version control tools
  • Exposure to JIRA or JIRA-like story tool
  • Experience with a variety of agile development methodologies
  • Hands on experience in application code and deployment
