Data Quality Engineer for Big Data project

We are looking for Data Quality Engineer who will primarily support the Data Engineering Team. Join our team at N-iX, one of the fastest growing software development companies in Eastern Europe.
The Data Quality Engineer is responsible for the data consistency, quality and transparency of the data collected from all internal and external sources. This individual will also be responsible for the QA of data flow, or ensuring there is a consistent QA procedure in place for all teams to follow when enhancing existing applications or the development of new products.

Our client Gogo is a US-based company that provides In-flight Internet and entertainment services to the aircraft across the globe, serving more than 2,900 commercial over 6,600 business aircraft. At this moment we cooperate on Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, and BigData directions and look for talents who can contribute to the complex data management and analysis projects.

Responsibilities and job specifics:
  • Work with data warehouse and development teams to help drive consistency across our varied data domains
  • Document data capture requirements as required
  • Perform QA data testing and validation on all changes, and periodic QA reviews of existing data feeds using SQL and other tools
  • Assist in the creation of core enterprise data governance guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum team guiding the testing process for both development and other quality engineers
  • Evaluating and approving data for validity and impact on deliverables
  • Responding to internal data inquiries
  • Compiling and analyzing data reports
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • 1+ years of software testing and QA experience in data projects
  • 1+ years’ experience with data processing or ETL
  • 1+ years of QA or data validation using tools such as SQL, Python is a plus
  • Agile / Scrum
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Methodical and attentive to detail
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility
  • Independent, driven, self-starter
  • Able to quickly adapt to new challenges
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good communication skills and good English
