N-iX is looking for a talented DBA who can become a part of our team and contribute new ideas into product development.
Our client is the leading UK Digital challenger bank for small businesses. The role is an exciting opportunity for a DBA to join our team and work on a number of large-scale projects such as a SQL 2019 migration, whilst also helping the team deliver critical BAU work streams for the team, and will consists of following:

  • Ensure the various SQL jobs and related processes including payments complete and run efficiently, with quality monitoring and alerting to quickly respond and resolve issues
  • Backups and Restores tasks for large databases 
  • Assist team when performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware, server configuration changes, or index/query changes 
  • Providing support in the event of database issue, ensuring the DBA team support a paid on-call rota, providing backup in the event of a major issue
  • Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance
  • Install and configure new SQL Servers
  • Assist DBA Team in SQL migration to newer version of SQL Server
  • Understanding with High Availability technologies
  • Support complex SQL replication environment
  • Support disaster recovery procedures in effective manner   
  • Assisting App Support Team on business-critical processes including payment processes and nightly load processes 
  • Support and execute IT governance and controls with a focus on Data Security to meet GDPR, PCI-DSS and NIST
  • Support release process with development teams
  • Assist in document company's key systems and database environments


  • Demonstrable knowledge with SQL Server Administration experience (SQL 2012 or above)
  • Experience with SQL 2019 will be an advantage
  • Advance level SQL DBA and TSQL knowledge
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL server
  • Liaising with developers, applications/operational staff, Project Manager and other technical staff
  • Database monitoring tools, e.g. Redgate
  • Familiarity with SQL Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Reporting Services (SSRS)
