Senior Node.JS Engineer (#13630442)

Schibsted is an international company of digital consumer brands with more than 5 000 employees and with world-class media houses in Scandinavia, leading marketplaces and digital services. We're looking for a Senior Node.JS Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of a feature or feature set
• Architect, design, and work with the team to get new features and services into production
• Generate high-quality code in balance with rapid feature delivery
• Minimize repetitive releases containing critical bugs, improve automated testing coverage
• Maintain internal systems and performance
• Work with designers and other engineers to solve problems and implement solutions
• Outline solutions, build endpoints, iterate through improvements and changes, QA, and release

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency of Node.JS and knowledge of the frameworks available for it
• Strong understanding of Design Patterns, Algorithms, and OOP
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Excellent understanding of both NoSQL and SQL databases
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Experience with TDD and other testing best practices
• Good working knowledge of AWS and its application services and best practices
• Proficient understanding of Git
• Extreme ownership over all projects and consistent ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to clearly present ideas to stakeholders
• Exhibits dynamism, excitement, and a positive can do attitude
• A good team-player
• Generates sensible, realistic, practical solutions to problems
• Able to deliver results without a lot of direction from a manager
• Adaptable. Copes effectively with complexity and change
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or other relevant field
• Upper-Intermediate/Advanced English level.
