Senior Data Engineer (#1587)

As a Data Engineer you’ll play an important part in our company’s customer account migration process in the Pay As You Go (PAYG) Team within OVO Consumer. You’ll be working in a squad alongside other Node.Js and Data engineers supporting the squad across several functional areas of a migration programme. You’ll be collaborating daily with product managers and developers to design and develop features and data pipelines, to migrate customers from our legacy systems into a new platform.

Responsibilities:

• A proven track record of designing, building, monitoring and managing large-scale data products, pipelines, tooling and platforms.
• Work in a team for Typescript Engineers and Data Engineers in developing
• Developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines
• ETL processes that retrieve, validate and shape data from APIs and Kafka topics to load onto a new platform.
• Build a quality software with value of automation and continuous delivery.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of best practices and methodologies in Data Warehousing with at least 5 years of experience
• Experience with BigQuery
• Experience in working on GCP or any other cloud provider
• Experience in building and supporting ETL pipelines using SQL technologies
• Experience working in an Agile development process
• Experience with Kafka, Kafka Connect or similar would be a plus
• Experience with database administration and MSSQL would be an advantage
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, Terraform would be a plus
• Upper-intermediate English
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
