N-iX is looking for a talented Trainee Data Engineer who can become a part of our support team and contribute new ideas to product development.
Our client is a US-based company that provides In-flight Internet and entertainment services to aircraft across the globe, serving both commercial and business aircraft. At this moment we cooperate on Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Data Science, Billing, and BigData directions and look for talents who can contribute to complex data management and analysis projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support existing end-to-end data solutions for structured and unstructured data including, but not limited to, ingestion, parsing, integration, auditing, logging, aggregation, normalization, and error handling
- Resolve failed or hung jobs
- Create jobs and queries to perform auditing and error handling
- Maintain and support the Information Management Cluster based on AWS
- On-call support (a few hours per week)
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in SQL
- Strong fundamental knowledge of Python
- Understanding of Cloud technologies (any AWS or GCP experience)
- Good understanding of software development methodologies
- Being result-oriented, ability to get things done in a highly dynamic and stressful environment
- Good communication skills and good English
- Being a good team player
Nice to have:
- Theoretical knowledge of BigData technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop, AWS EMR, etc.)
- Experience with Linux
