Senior/Middle Game Economy/Balancing Designer (#2032)

N-iX Games is looking for a Game Economy/Balance Designer. In our team, you’ll be responsible for creating a sustainable game economy as well as owning and designing trading, construction, and metagame features from the idea to post-release for a PC strategy game. Together with our design team, you’ll forge player’s experience for our upcoming ambitious project.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an economy/balance designer
• Previous experience with participation in strategic PC games
• 3+ years of overall experience in the game design area
• Strong math background and understanding of game-balancing principles
• Experience with any kind of visual scripting language
• Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine
• Ability to develop complex intertwined game systems
• Feature owner experience
• B2 English or higher
• Previously released premium PC projects

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive game design documentation for in-game economies and monetization systems
• Balance in-game economy and meta-progression to create a challenging but rewarding balanced player experience
• Utilize a data-driven approach to enhance gameplay, optimize economy loops, and improve core and meta gameplay
• Work with the team of game designers to tie up the narrative layer, as well as other game mechanics with the economy

Good to have

• Experience with city-building, RTS, or strategy/tactical games as economy designer
• Experience with roguelite games as a designer
• Additional experience with balancing and game economy design
• Good understanding of the player’s experience and how to impact it through balancing
• Experience with blueprints, programming, and scripting
• Problem-solving mindset
• Being able to work independently and as part of a team
• Be an avid gamer
