About the role

We are seeking an expert Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and implement data-oriented solutions that meet our client's business requirements. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Developers to ensure data is processed and analyzed effectively and efficiently.

What will you do?

• Develop data pipelines for data acquisition and processing
• Construct databases and data warehouses
• Develop data models for storing data
• Integrate data from different sources
• Implement data governance and security policies
• Optimize databases and data processing workflows
• Create data visualizations and reports
• Automate data processes
• Develop solutions for scaling data infrastructures
• Create APIs and integrate data into applications

Required skills and experience

• Expertise in data management and analysis
• Proficiency in processing, transforming, and storing data using:
• Real-time Data Platforms (e.g., Spark)
• Big Data Environment Platform Design (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
• Strong understanding of data governance and security principles
• Experience with database administration and organization, including:
• Relational Databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB, RDS, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, Sybase, Ingres)
• NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
• Familiarity with API Scripts and Tools (e.g., JSON, etc. on Mulesoft, Apigee)
• Knowledge of Public Cloud Data Tools
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice to have

• Experience in the transportation or logistics sector
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in data engineering
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions
• Experience with Big Data Technologies
• Understanding of data visualization tools
• Experience with:
• Multi-dimensional Databases (e.g., Essbase, Anaplan)
• SAP S/4HANA
• Realtime DB (e.g., Firebase, Redshift, Redis)
• Knowledge of Blockchain technologies (e.g., Java, Python, C++, Simplicity, Node.js, Go, Solidity)
• Experience with High-Performance Data Modeling Tools (e.g., Terraform, Ab Initio)
• Proficiency in the German language (both written and spoken) - B2 level or higher
