We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Platform Engineer who is willing to transition into a team lead role to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Platform Engineering and has long experience in managing large infrastructures in AWS. This role requires a deep understanding of modern DevOps tools and practices, as well as a commitment to fostering a responsive, communicative, and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure services for 30+ development teams.
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code.
- Lead and manage the Ukrainian part of the team.
- Implement and provide guidance on observability (InfluxDB, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
- Participate in on-call rotations.
- Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to support scalable and secure applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth infrastructure operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
- Implement best practices for security, reliability, and performance.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a platform engineering or similar role.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Leadership skills and the will to transition into a leadership role
- Extensive experience with at least one Infrastructure as a Code provider
- In-depth experience with AWS cloud services.
- Excellent skills in Linux
- Having worked with at least one Database product, preferably Mongodb or Elasticsearch
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In Depth knowledge of networking and TCP/IP
- Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Go or Java.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Strong experience in observability platforms like Promethus, Elastic APM, InfluxDB
