N-iX is looking for a Data Specialist with an automotive background to help shape and enhance our vehicle data systems.

About the client:

Our customer is the European online car market with over 30 million monthly users, with a market presence in 18 countries. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online car markets and enhancing the user experience for millions of car buyers and sellers.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the vehicle taxonomy as the basis for presenting classifieds on the customers’ platform spanning Europe and Canada.
  • Research on new and established car manufacturers to expand and improve the vehicle Taxonomy
  • Integrate and taxonomies from multiple sources into the customers’ internal systems and publish them across various platforms.
  • Improve the efficiency of Taxonomy management by exploring advanced technologies and the use of AI.
  •  Use metrics on data availability and user interaction to make informed decisions on how to further expand clients’ vehicle Taxonomy.
  • Coordinate and execute on cross-functional projects with technical and non-technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and enthusiasm about cars, makes, models, and the general car market.
  • Relevant experience in working with information management systems, taxonomies, ontologies, or data modelling.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Upper-intermediate English proficiency, enabling seamless communication in a global team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong self-management skills, a proactive attitude, and a results-driven mindset focused on delivering outcomes efficiently.

 

Nice-to-have: 

  • Proven skills in data retrieval and data research techniques.
  • Familiarity with semantic web technologies (e.g. RDF) and familiarity with ontology editors (e.g. Protégé, PoolParty) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile methods and the software engineering lifecycle.
  • First experience in coding or working in software projects is a plus.

*We are open to considering candidates for part-time cooperation (approximately 4 hours per day) or on a freelance basis.
