Senior PowerBI Engineer (#4079)

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Power BI Engineer to join our dynamic data team, becoming a strategic partner in the design, development, and delivery of scalable business intelligence solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise in Power BI with strong analytical acumen and stakeholder engagement skills. You will drive the transformation of raw data into actionable insights, mentor junior team members, and play a key advisory role for both business and technical decisions. Your leadership will help shape our operational and strategic reporting framework.

Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end BI solution delivery: requirements gathering, dashboard/report design, insight communication, and stakeholder alignment.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Engineering, Data Engineering) to define KPIs, track performance, and surface data-driven opportunities and recommendations.

- Design, build, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, applying advanced data modeling (Star/Snowflake, DAX) and visualization best practices.

- Maintain and improve robust SQL queries and data models to support scalable analytics, performance, and efficient data integration (incl. Azure Synapse, Snowflake, etc.).

- Advise stakeholders on analytical best practices, report enhancements, and BI strategy.

- Mentor and guide a small team of BI analysts and engineers; contribute to code reviews and skill development.

- Ensure BI solutions meet high standards for reliability, security (Row-level security), and usability; own documentation and QA processes.

- Champion a culture of communication, clear documentation, and continuous improvement in BI and analytics delivery.

- Apply business acumen to bridge technical solutions with practical business needs.

- Contribute to the adoption of CI/CD and version control for BI deployments.

Requirements

- 6+ years in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar field.

- Expert-level experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard/report design).

- Strong proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).

- Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses or lakehouses (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).

- Solid understanding of dimensional data modeling, ETL/ELT, and analytics architecture.

- Proven track record in gathering requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and delivering value-oriented insights.

- Demonstrated leadership/mentoring experience in small BI or analyst teams.

- Excellent communication skills; able to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency.

Nice to Have

- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics and statistical analysis.

- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.

- Familiarity with CI/CD and Git for BI workflows.

- Certification in Power BI or analytics (e.g., PL-300, DA-100, DP-203, Google Data Analyst).

- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, or working in e-commerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Data-as-a-Service domains.
