Senior Python Engineer (#4673)

About the role:

We are looking for a senior Python backend engineer to build an MVP of a first-of-its-kind AI-powered VC due diligence evaluation platform, leveraging a 400+ point checklist based on their corporate experience. The role focuses on backend development, API design, and production integration with LLM models, like OpenAI, vector databases (Milvus) and additional AI services that could provide intelligent responses for the query. This position suits someone who is comfortable working at the intersection of backend engineering, data and OCR and integrating with AI systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build and support REST APIs for AI-related functionality
• Implement and maintain asynchronous workflows, background jobs, and queues
• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services
• Collaborate closely with AI engineers, data specialists, and product teams
• Participate in code reviews and technical decision-making

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Python in backend development
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
• Experience integrating AI solutions via APIs or internal services
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of NoSQL databases
• Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience with the AWS cloud platform

Nice to have:

• Experience working with LLMs (OpenAI, or open-source models)
• Familiarity with vector databases (Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, etc.)
• Experience building retrieval-based or RAG solutions
• Experience with Celery, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
• Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing)
