Senior GIS Engineer (#5299)

We are looking for a Senior GIS Engineer to lead the integration of Esri map technology. The goal is to extend beyond surface satellite imagery and surface subsurface geological data to support exploration, planning, and operational decisions. You will also help us design a cost-predictable architecture for running Esri workloads in the cloud. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate Esri (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro) with proprietary mining software.
• Build pipelines that combine drone captured imagery with deep-ground geological and geophysical data (boreholes, seismic, drone, LiDAR).
• Design Azure cloud architecture for Esri workloads.
• Develop cost monitoring, forecasting, and optimization mechanisms for ArcGIS cloud usage (credits, compute, storage, tile / feature services).
• Collaborate with geologists, data engineers, and product teams to translate domain requirements into GIS solutions.

Required Skills:

• 7/8+ years of hands-on GIS engineering experience, including the Esri ArcGIS stack (Pro, Enterprise, Online, REST APIs).
• Strong Python (ArcPy) and SQL.
• Experience with spatial databases (Databricks, Apache Sedona, PostGIS,).
• Experience deploying Esri / GIS workloads to Azure platform, including IaC and cost management (FinOps practices).
• Working knowledge of 3D geological / subsurface data formats and visualization (voxel models, boreholes, point clouds).
• Solid understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodesy.
• Fluent/Upper-Intermediate English skills.

Nice to Have:

• Domain experience in mining, oil & gas, or geosciences.
• Experience with Leapfrog, Petrel, Surpac, or similar geological modeling tools.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD for GIS services.
• Open-source GIS exposure (QGIS, GDAL, GeoServer) as a complement to Esri.
