Middle General QA (Java) (#5351)

N-iX is looking for a talented Middle General QA engineer (Manual & Automation) to join our team!  

Our client is one of Europe's fastest-growing mobile companies with 6 million active customers, 1,000 employees worldwide, and operations in five countries. The client is using the mobile virtual network operator business model.
The role combines manual QA responsibilities such as requirements analysis, test design, API testing, defect management, and regression testing, with automation activities focused mainly on backend/API test automation using Java-based frameworks.

Responsibilities :

• Analyse business requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide meaningful feedback and identify potential gaps or risks early in the development process
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, test plans, and scripts to validate new features, ensure non-functional requirements are met, and conduct regression testing
• Perform end-to-end testing of backend functionality, focusing on web services (REST, SOAP) and ensuring seamless integration within a microservice architecture
• Contribute to API/backend test automation using Java-based automation frameworks
• Maintain and extend existing automation tests, including regression and integration test scenarios
• Identify, document and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication of issues
• Manage and maintain test data, ensuring proper setup for efficient and accurate test execution
• Validate data using SQL queries and database checks.
• Work within a cross-functional team, closely collaborating with developers, automation testers, and production support engineers to improve overall software quality
• Lead demo sessions for stakeholders, showcasing test results, findings, and key observations
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving, actively identifying and addressing issues to streamline development
• Communicate effectively in a multinational environment
• Contribute to continuous QA process improvements, enhancing reporting, documentation, and best practices

Requirements :

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance
• Practical experience with test automation, preferably backend/API automation
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing processes, tools, and best practices
• Proven ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases
• Understanding of microservice architecture and integration testing
• Hands-on experience with Web Services (REST and SOAP)
• API testing experience (Postman, Swagger, or similar tools)
• Good skills in requirement analysis, test design, defect reporting, and risk identification
• Good practical experience with SQL for database querying and test validation
• Good understanding of XML and JSON
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban development environments
• Experience with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence) and test case management (TestRail, XRay) tools
• Knowledge and experience with messaging systems and patterns (topics, queues), and tools (Azure Service Bus)
• Understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc)
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion
• Solid verbal and written English communication skills (Upper-Intermediate)

Would be a plus:

• Experience with Azure cloud environment and cloud-based testing
• Deeper experience with CI/CD pipelines and test execution integration
• Experience with performance, reliability, or non-functional testing
• Experience in backend-heavy or microservice-based platforms.
• Understanding of telecom industry principles
