Work type:
Office/Remote
Technical Level:
Leader
Job Category:
Software Development
Project:
Premier corporate digital protection company

Client Overview:

Our Client is a global leader in corporate brand protection and domain management, serving Fortune 500 and large enterprises with domain registration, online brand monitoring, and anti-counterfeiting services.

Project Description

The Client is consolidating multiple client portals into a single modern platform on AWS. The AWS migration is a core workstream: building out CI/CD and cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform) across multiple environments, and owning scalability and observability as the platform grows. Lead DevOps Engineer will work within the Client's existing DevOps team, partnering closely on architecture and driving the migration forward.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of commercial DevOps / SRE / infrastructure engineering experience, including a technical leadership role on cloud or platform initiatives
  • Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up, with practical Jenkins expertise
  • Deep, hands-on AWS expertise across multiple accounts and environments (compute, networking / VPC, IAM, RDS, deployment, and cost-aware architecture)
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code expertise — designing and maintaining reusable, multi-stack Terraform (or equivalent) across dev / staging / production
  • Experience deploying, scaling, and operating PHP (Laravel) applications in production
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker plus ECS / EKS / Kubernetes)
  • Strong observability skills — metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting (e.g. Prometheus / Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, Datadog)
  • Solid scripting / automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of MySQL and RabbitMQ in production environments (scaling, monitoring, tuning)
  • Experience migrating manual / on-prem deployments to automated cloud-based pipelines
  • Sound understanding of system security, secrets management, and networking fundamentals
  • Ability to lead and mentor, set standards, and make sound technical decisions in a collaborative, multi-team setting
  • Comfortable working embedded within a client's in-house team as part of a close partnership
  • Ability to work with significant overlap with US Mountain Time (afternoon collaboration), especially through the initial ramp-up — distributed team across US / UK / Brazil
  • Excellent English communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leading an AWS migration or greenfield cloud build-out end to end
  • Experience standing up observability / scalability practices on a greenfield or modernizing platform
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor)
  • Background in SaaS, multi-tenant platforms, or large-scale B2B portals
  • Familiarity with Nuxt.js / Vue.js build and deployment workflows

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the AWS migration workstream, driving the transition from manual on-prem deployment toward automated, repeatable cloud delivery
  • Build CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for the application largely from the ground up and automate deployment into AWS
  • Design and maintain the full AWS infrastructure as code in Terraform — VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, RDS, and supporting services — across multiple dev, staging, and production accounts / stacks
  • Design and implement scalability for the PHP / Laravel application — autoscaling, load handling, performance under growth
  • Build out observability — monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting — to give the team clear visibility into system health
  • Partner closely with the Client's in-house DevOps and senior engineering team, joining architecture sessions and helping break down and estimate the work
  • Set DevOps standards and best practices; mentor and guide on pipelines, IaC, and operations
  • Apply security and operational best practices across pipelines and infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot production and infrastructure issues and lead root-cause analysis
  • Engage with Client engineering counterparts in US / UK / Brazil on integration points and delivery milestones
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retros, demos
