We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to take end-to-end ownership of the product backlog and work closely with engineering, UX, Legal & Compliance, and client-side Product Managers.

The role focuses on improving, scaling, and optimizing existing Investment and Pension Products (IPP) platform features. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, translate product concepts and requirements into clear priorities and actionable tasks, and confidently participate in technical discussions with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product backlog end-to-end: decompose concepts, define and prioritize requirements, write tickets, and drive delivery with the engineering team.
  • Translate product vision into roadmap, priorities, goals, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Elicit, structure, verify, and validate requirements and define appropriate solution options.
  • Define and evaluate priorities based on business value.
  • Manage backlog and support bug triage.
  • Work closely with Backend, Frontend, and DevOps engineers during planning and refinement sessions.
  • Understand API architecture, API integration principles, and complex technical flows, and communicate them effectively to technical teams.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to translate complex technical logic into simple B2C user experiences.
  • Align product features with Legal & Compliance requirements in a regulated fintech environment.
  • Improve, scale, and optimize existing Investment and Pension Products (IPP) platform features.
  • Coordinate with client-side Product Managers within the Pension Tribe.
  • Facilitate discussions and lead by influence across different stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage risks and conflicts.
  • Use modelling and prototyping techniques where appropriate, including diagramming, process flows, sketching, usability testing, and A/B testing.
  • Use metrics and KPIs to evaluate product solutions and outcomes.
  • Use AI tools to improve personal productivity, including prompting and workflow automation.

Requirements:

Product Ownership

  • Strong experience in Product Ownership, including end-to-end backlog management.
  • Strong understanding of requirements elicitation, requirements types and hierarchy, verification and validation.
  • Experience defining and evaluating solution options.
  • Strong prioritization and value definition skills.
  • Experience with roadmap development and maintenance.
  • Understanding of product vision, business cases, metrics, and KPIs.

Domain Experience

  • Fintech / Banking experience is highly preferred and considered a key requirement, including understanding of financial processes and terminology.
  • Experience in another regulated environment, such as Healthcare, can be considered as an alternative, particularly where the candidate has experience aligning product features with Legal & Compliance requirements.
  • E-commerce experience is not relevant for this position.

Technical Awareness

  • Understanding of API architecture and API integration principles.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical flows.
  • Technical awareness of databases, SQL, and APIs.
  • Ability to participate meaningfully in technical discussions with engineering teams.
  • Hands-on software development experience is not required.

UX & Product Thinking

  • Experience working with UX designers.
  • Ability to translate complex technical logic into simple and effective B2C user experiences.
  • Understanding of modelling and prototyping techniques and when to apply them.
  • Familiarity with usability testing, A/B testing, and setting appropriate metrics.

Leadership & Communication

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead by influence.
  • Risk and conflict management skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-proposing mindset.

AI Literacy

  • Ability to use AI tools to improve personal productivity, including prompting and workflow automation.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience transitioning across different product domains within a single organization.
  • Experience working with Investment and Pension Products.
  • Experience in a regulated product environment.
