Senior SAP Systems Architect (AI Integration) (#5436)

N-iX is looking for a SAP Systems Architect (AI Integration) to join our team. 

Our client is an innovative technology company developing advanced AI-powered solutions for enterprise and industrial environments. The organization focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to optimize complex engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain processes through intelligent software platforms and data-driven decision-making.

The client is seeking a Senior SAP Systems Architect to unlock the "Digital Backbone" for autonomous AI agents. While Data Scientists build the brains (LLMs), you will build the nervous system that connects those brains to the enterprise core. You will serve as the primary architect for the SAP Data Access Layer (DAL), a critical component of the iAI strategy. Your mandate is to transform a rigid, defense-grade SAP landscape (S/4HANA, Ariba, BTP) into an API-accessible environment where AI agents can securely perform tasks—from forecasting liquidity to executing procurement orders. Working within a structured "Stage Gate" delivery model, you will ensure that AI-driven automation adheres to the strict transactional integrity and auditability.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect the secure gateway that sits between AI Agents and the SAP Core. Design robust OData services and APIs that allow agents to "read" live financial data and "write" transactions (e.g., posting invoices, updating PRs) with zero risk of corruption.
•  Lead the "Build vs. Buy" technical assessment for integration tools, specifically evaluating SAP Joule against custom EDGE-specific agent development to ensure the most effective path for the supply chain and finance functions.
•  Map complex business processes (e.g., "Procure-to-Pay," "Record-to-Report") into discrete, machine-executable "Skills" that an AI agent can trigger via the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Configure and expose deep data structures within S/4HANA to power the "Controllership Agent" and "Treasury Agent," ensuring real-time visibility into cash positions and reconciliation logic.
• Architect the data pipelines that feed the "BoM Cost Analysis" and "Supplier Risk Scoring" engines, integrating data from SAP Ariba and SAP MM (Materials Management) to provide a unified view of the supply chain.
• Design secure connectors for the "iAI HC" initiative, allowing agents to access employee master data and organizational structures while maintaining strict PII compliance.
• Implement rigorous Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) at the API level. Ensure that an AI agent never has "God Mode" permissions and that every AI-initiated action is logged in the SAP audit trail.
• Optimize HANA database views (CDS Views) to support high-frequency querying by AI forecasting engines without degrading the performance of the transactional ERP system.
• Establish the "Golden Rules" for AI-to-SAP interaction, ensuring compliance with EDGE’s data sovereignty requirements and export control regulations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in SAP Systems Engineering or Architecture, with a proven track record of complex integration projects in large-scale enterprises
• Core SAP Stack: Expert-level knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Deep proficiency in SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming), OData services, BAPIs, and SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
• Strong command of ABAP and CDS Views 
• Ability to translate "SAP-speak" (BAPIs, IDocs, T-Codes) into concepts that Data Scientists and ML Engineers can understand and utilize.
• Ability to advise leadership on the feasibility of AI use cases within the constraints of the existing SAP landscape 

Nice to have:

• Experience with HANA SQLScript.
• Experience working on projects involving procurement, finance, and/or materials management processes
• Experience extracting data for external Data Lakes (e.g., via SAP Datasphere or BW/4HANA)
• Familiarity with exposing SAP logic to non-SAP (Python/Node.js) and understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Experience in Manufacturing, or Public Sector industries
•  Understanding of complex Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and project systems (PS)
