February 6, 2024 – N-iX, in partnership with Just Join IT, organized a live-streamed debate on the state of Poland’s IT industry. The event, titled “Eldorado czy Biedorado? Awantura o IT w 2025”, was broadcast on Just Join IT’s YouTube channel and featured an in-depth discussion on the key challenges and opportunities shaping the sector in 2025.
The debate brought together tech experts to explore the current state of the IT industry, analyzing salary trends, job opportunities, the impact of AI on the job market, and the future of work in terms of remote, hybrid, and office-based models.
Among the featured speakers were Prof. Andrzej Dragan (Quantum Physicist & AI Researcher), Karol Dubas (Head of International Recruitment at N-iX), and Łukasz Zatorski (Head of Delivery at N-iX), alongside industry experts such as Petros Psyllos (Cybernetics Company), Dawid Myśliwiec (Science Communicator), and Artur Kurasiński (Tech Analyst & Entrepreneur), among many others who contributed their insights and perspectives to the discussion. The discussion was moderated by Włodek Markowicz, Karol Paciorek, and Kamil Kozieł.
Industry Trends and Expert Insights
The livestream brought together industry experts to analyze the evolving IT landscape, touching on crucial trends shaping the job market, the impact of AI, and shifting workplace expectations. The discussion centered around the following key topics:
The IT Job Market in 2025
Poland’s IT industry remains competitive, but entry-level specialists are finding it harder to break in. While demand for experienced professionals remains steady, companies are becoming more selective, prioritizing specialists with broad skill sets and adaptability.
“The job market is changing fast. Those who embrace flexibility and continuous learning will find opportunities, even in a more competitive environment,” noted Dagna Frydrych, Head of Growth Marketing at Just Join IT.
Paweł Łopatka, Managing Director at Experis Poland, highlighted that hiring trends vary by specialization, with cybersecurity, data, and AI still in high demand. Meanwhile, Karol Dubas pointed out that while senior specialists are the most recruited, they often lack time to explore new technologies. “This creates an opportunity for juniors willing to upskill horizontally rather than focus on just one specialization,” he explained. With companies optimizing budgets and processes, adaptability and ongoing training are key to staying competitive in 2025.
AI: A Threat or an Opportunity?
As AI evolves, its impact on IT jobs remains a key concern. While some fear automation will replace traditional roles, experts highlighted that AI is also creating new opportunities.
Professor Andrzej Dragan pointed out the rapid advancements in AI, noting that its progress has exceeded expectations in many areas.
Petros Psyllos demonstrated AI’s ability to develop complex solutions in record time, showcasing how it can accelerate innovation rather than just automate tasks. Meanwhile, Marcin Nowosad, HR & Employer Branding Expert, pointed out AI’s growing role in recruitment, streamlining hiring processes but also reshaping employer expectations.
Dawid Myśliwiec emphasized that despite AI’s capabilities, the human factor remains crucial. “The biggest dilemmas lie not in what AI can do, but in how we decide to use it,” he noted, underscoring the importance of ethical considerations and human oversight in an AI-driven future.
Remote Work vs. Returning to the Office
The debate on workplace flexibility continues as companies weigh the benefits of remote, hybrid, and office-based models. While some organizations push for a return to in-person work, others recognize the value of flexibility.
“Work models shouldn’t be dictated by rigid policies but should reflect a company’s identity, local expertise, and team dynamics,” said Łukasz Zatorski. “There is no universal solution — what works for one company might not work for another.”
Artur Kuraśiński urged companies to listen to employees and avoid extreme decisions when shaping workplace policies. Agnieszka Ciećwierz, CEO of Sigmund Polska, HR & Recruitment Expert, highlighted that flexible work arrangements allow employees to align their schedules with their natural productivity rhythms, making them more effective and engaged in their work.
