On January 27, N-iX, in cooperation with the Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster, opened a new computer laboratory in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children.
The Center can host about 50 orphans from all over Ukraine, including children from hostilities zones. Twenty-seven kids residing in the Center will now get access to modern means of computer education.
Setting up a computer class in the Center was long overdue. As computers and fully equipped workplaces were necessary for online courses. And now, the needs of the Center are fully covered.
This initiative is the result of N-iX Autumn Charity Meetups, dedicated to the launch of the new N-iX office in Ivano-Frankivsk. During these meetups, IT professionals shared their experiences, networked, and raised money to buy the necessary furniture to equip a computer class for kids.
As a result, N-iX, with the help of the Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster, was able to buy 30 brand-new workplaces to furnish a computer classroom. N-iX also donated ten desktop PCs; additional laptops were contributed to the Center by the Ukrainian community in Chicago.
“The company doubled the funds collected during our Tech Meetups. We bought new furniture and donated computers for the needs of kids in the Center. The fundraiser started in October, and now the charity initiative is finally implemented. Children will finally have the possibility to study remotely, and teachers will be able to use this equipment for educational purposes.
