Senior Python Engineer (AI experience) (#5342)

N-iX is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to build production-grade application architecture for one of our clients' AI transformation initiatives. You will act as the technical anchor for developing robust, on-premise microservices that power an AI engineering platform and autonomous AI agents. Your role involves designing secure API gateways and orchestration layers that allow Large Language Models (LLMs) to interact safely with enterprise systems and sensitive engineering data within a structured delivery model.

Responsibilities:

• Architect the orchestration layer (Agent of Agents) to coordinate specialized AI workers, manage state, task routing, and error handling.
• Design routing and classification services that map user prompts to specific skills and playbooks, ensuring deterministic execution of critical engineering and operational workflows.
• Build scalable, containerized microservices to handle high-concurrency requests and ensure low-latency responses for real-time AI-assisted operations. 
• Construct a secure data access layer for connectivity to enterprise ERP systems, enforcing strict validation logic before any transaction is committed.
• Build secure and observable connection layers to central data platforms, ensuring all transactions are authenticated, authorized, and audited.
• Develop backend logic interfacing with Vector Databases and construct robust connectors for external data feeds, handling rate limiting, caching, and data normalization.
• Implement defense-grade security services, including RBAC and PII/ITAR redaction, and engineer systems for air-gapped or on-premise deployment.
• Implement comprehensive logging, tracing, and monitoring mechanisms adhering to enterprise best practices.

Requirements:

• At least 5+ years of experience in Python, specifically building distributed systems or platforms that serve ML/AI models in production.
• Expert proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Django) 
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) for deploying scalable applications in on-premise environments.
• Strong background in designing RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and using API Gateways like Kong or NGINX.
• Proficiency with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL) and Vector Databases (Weaviate, Milvus).
• Ability to deliver Agile software within structured delivery and formal audit environments
• Experience building high-availability and auditable systems.

Nice to Have:

•  Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and ERP protocols such as OData and SOAP.
